Meet the new Branch President

Chief Judge James A. Plemel has released the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan’s Biennial Report which covers the period January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2015.

Sharon Pratchler, QC, Senior Crown Counsel with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice, was elevated to President of CBA Saskatchewan for the 2015/2016 term.

SASKATOON – The Canadian Bar Association, Saskatchewan Branch, is pleased to announce Brenda Walper-Bossence, QC, as its 2015 Community Service Award recipient. Brenda has a general practice in Moose Jaw, where she has practiced since 1986.

The Canadian Bar Association, Saskatchewan Branch, and the Saskatoon Public Library are proud to present the first annual Law Day Fair on Sunday, April 19th. The event, which runs from 1:30 to 4:30 pm at the Rusty MacDonald Branch (225 Primrose Drive, Saskatoon / Ph: 306- 975-7600), will include displays and legal presentations made by a wide array of community partners to educate citizens on their legal rights.

SASKATOON - Saturday, April 18th marks the 16th Annual Mock Trial Competition, CBA Saskatchewan’s Provincial High School event. Held in support of Law Day and taking place at the Queen’s Bench Court House in Saskatoon, 5 teams from various centres throughout the province will compete against each other in the court of law. The competition begins at 11:00 am.

SASKATOON – Greg Walen, QC, a partner with Scharfstein Gibbings Walen & Fisher LLP, has been selected as the recipient for the CBA Saskatchewan 2015 Distinguished Service Award. Greg specializes in the practice of family law, with over 35 years of experience in the legal field.
