WHAT: CBA Saskatchewan 2015 Distinguished Service Award
WHY: The Distinguished Service Award was created by the Canadian Bar Association, Saskatchewan Branch (CBA Saskatchewan) to recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of a Branch member. Awarded individuals have impacted the legal profession in Saskatchewan; jurisprudence in Saskatchewan or Canada; the law and/or development of law in Saskatchewan; or law-related achievements for the benefit of residents of Saskatchewan. All nominations are reviewed by the CBA Saskatchewan Awards Committee.
WHO: Greg Walen, QC, a partner with Scharfstein Gibbings Walen & Fisher LLP, has been selected as the recipient for the CBA Saskatchewan 2015 Distinguished Service Award. Greg specializes in the practice of family law, with over 35 years of experience in the legal field. He has been involved with the Canadian Bar Association for over 20 years and has also actively worked with various legal organizations across the province including the Law Society of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Lawyers Insurance Association, University of Saskatchewan’s College of Law, Saskatchewan Legal Aid Commission and Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association.
