Annual Legal Conference to highlight Stress, Depression & Addiction in the profession and feature a panel discussion on End of Life issues
WHAT: The Canadian Bar Association, Saskatchewan Branch, will hold its 2015 Mid-Winter Meeting next week, February 5-6th, at the Delta Bessborough Hotel in Saskatoon.
WHY: This annual conference provides lawyers from across Saskatchewan with two days of premier education and networking among the province’s top legal professionals.
WHO: The conference will bring together compelling speakers and interesting professional development plenaries and workshops on evolving legal topics. A few highlights for this year include:
- Dr. Gabor Maté, renowned speaker and bestselling author, discussing “Stress, Depression & Addiction in the Legal Profession”.
- A panel discussion on the highly debated topic of End of Life issues. The session will include viewpoints from a United Church Hospital Chaplain, a member of the Constitutional Law Branch, a member from the Saskatoon Health Region and a Board member from Dying with Dignity Canada.
- The Honourable Gordon Wyant, QC, Minister of Justice and the Attorney General for Saskatchewan will open the conference with the annual “Breakfast with the Minister”.
