Mock Trial Competition

The Mock Trial Competition recreates the dramatic centre of the justice system by allowing high school participants to play roles in trial, including prosecutor, defence counsel and witness. Such a "hands-on" learning activity provides students with the opportunity to learn the basic facts about court room procedures, rules of evidence and various legal concepts inherent in a criminal trial including "innocent until proven guilty".

This event is open to the public. Journalists/Media are permitted to use television cameras, sound equipment, still cameras or whatever equipment is necessary to cover the competitions. Normally this equipment is prohibited from all court room sessions.

2020 Mock Trial Competition

The CBA Saskatchewan Board of Directors has had an opportunity to discuss the ongoing concerns of COVID-19 and its implication on our meeting and events. While the hard work of the students and the gracious offerings of time that our volunteers have given are in the forefront of our minds, health and safety is our main focus. In accordance with the guidelines set out by Health Canada and all levels of Government, we have made the decision to cancel this years Mock Trial scheduled for April 4, 2020. Thank you to all, students, teachers, volunteers alike, who have put their time and effort into this event. While I am sure this is not a surprise to anyone, we do apologize for any inconvenience.
